Hueshift Release
Hey all! I had a lot of fun making this game. The idea for this game came from a simple concept. My buddy Matt Payne makes music and I make video games, so we decided to make a game together in one day. This was the birth of "ColorRunner," or what we now call Hueshift! We started at about 1:00 PM that day so we underwent some serious time constraints and decided to make a simplistic endless runner. I've found that when under heavy time constraints, interesting things happen. First, it forces ideas to come out of my head. It's remarkable how being forced to create something in 24 hours brings out so much creativity. Next, time constraints really make a difference in making a presentable, finished product. It's easy to keep tweaking a game forever, but sometimes just showing off what you have is the way to go. I could definitely add more features to Hueshift. Currently on my radar is a global leaderboard so players can compete with friends and strangers from around the world in addition to always having a new goal to accomplish. If people like this game, I will certainly add more features!
For now, I'm thinking about reviving an old project and seeing it through to completion. Using what I've learned through time constraints and new experience, I'm ready to take on the challenge! Thanks for reading!
